Lyndsey has been a Broker and Partner at IBG since 2017. At its core, her role is all about empowering clients with the knowledge they need to get the most out of their benefits packages. A perk of the job? Lyndsey loves peeking under the hood of so many different businesses—discovering who they are and what they do—and then partnering with them to build a benefits package that aligns with their goals. She believes that helping employers find the balance between the cost to the business and the value that a competitive benefits package brings to employees is key to seeing our clients succeed. As a natural teacher, she also enjoys educating clients on their benefits and providing guidance when they have questions or concerns.

Lyndsey has a long and successful history in the world of benefits. Her first job after graduating from Portland State University in 1997 was in the benefits department of a Fortune 500 company based in Portland. After five years there, she was promoted to the role of Health & Welfare Manager, where she managed benefits for numerous plans and locations across the country. Lyndsey was then recruited by a mentor and friend to come work on the agency side, where she built her own book of business as an Account Manager and Broker over the course of 13 years and eventually purchased the company from her predecessor. It was around this time that Lyndsey had the privilege of meeting Jennifer Wakayama, whose business partner was nearing retirement. It was a natural fit to bring their businesses together, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Lyndsey’s curiosity extends beyond her work with IBG. At home, she loves cooking for her family, and she’s currently trying to master the fine art of making sourdough bread and fresh pasta. She also has a goal to read 36 books per year, which she finds time for in between chasing the sunshine and sitting in football stadiums cheering on her boys.

Jennifer is no stranger to the charms of Portland, as a native Oregonian, she understands every business is as unique as the city is. That’s why she works tirelessly connecting small business owners with the right medical and dental coverage to fit their individual needs.

If there’s a good new Netflix series, Jennifer’s probably seen it. She also loves to travel, loves to entertain, drink good wine; while spending time with friends and family.

Since 2017, Dot has played an integral role in helping support IBG clients. As our Senior Account Manager, her knack for explaining complicated subjects in easy-to-understand terms makes her a huge asset to our clients and to the IBG team. Clients count on Dot to help them navigate the complexities of benefits, claims, and insurance contracts, and the IBG team looks to her for training and support in complex situations. Dot is a member of the National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals (NABIP), National and Oregon Chapter. She has a Bachelor of Science from Portland State University, as well as a Master of Business Administration from Concordia University.

Dot has 20-plus years of experience in healthcare and benefits. Her career began in customer service and sales at Premera Blue Cross. She then worked as an account manager for a few third-party administrators and a multi-employer health trust before eventually finding her home here with the IBG team.

When she’s not educating clients on benefits, you can find Dot hanging out with the dogs or baking something delicious. A Pacific Northwest native, she loves the beautiful and varied scenery Oregon has to offer. “It’s so easy to be outside when it’s gorgeous anywhere that you go!”

Jessica serves as both an Account Manager and Director of Technology here at IBG. A member of the team since 2018, Jessica cares deeply about the success of our clients and partners. She believes growing long-term and trusting relationships is key to that work. In 2023, Jessica added technology expertise to her role when she worked with a consultant to design IBG’s customized CRM and task management system. She is a member of the National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals (NABIP), National and Oregon Chapter.

Prior to joining IBG, Jessica started her career in benefits by supporting an account team at a large agency in Oakland, CA. She also worked as a mortgage analyst and spent 12 years as a self-employed Certified Massage Therapist with a private practice in San Ramon, CA.

Outside of work, Jessica enjoys dancing to live music, cooking from her extensive cookbook collection, and discovering new cities and breweries on foot using guided city-walk books. Oh, and did we mention she’s a killer cribbage player? “I love how Oregonians are very active in the American Cribbage Congress, so I can find a competitive game any day of the week!”

Marissa is our amazing Benefits Analyst, which means that she supports all IBG clients in some way. Whether it is getting employees enrolled or creating benefit analyses, she has her hand in many tasks! Her careful attention to detail and organizational skills help her excel in her role, and she loves collaborating with the brilliant group of women at IBG. Marissa has been with the team since early 2022 and is a member of the National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals (NABIP), National and Oregon Chapter.

Prior to joining IBG, Marissa had extensive experience working in office administration and financial operations roles. As she embarks on her benefits career with IBG, she’s excited to build strong relationships with our clients and use her diverse skillset to serve them well.

Outside of IBG, Marissa is our resident artist. When she’s not working, she’s probably doing something creative or working on an interior design project. A Portland resident for over 10 years now, Marissa loves hiking and exploring all the fun new (and old) places Oregon has to offer.
