Lyndsey Donnerberg, Co-Owner / Partner & Broker
Lyndsey has been a Broker and Partner at IBG since 2017, where she’s built a reputation for helping employers truly understand the benefits they offer. A perk of the job? Lyndsey loves peeking under the hood of so many different businesses—discovering who they are and what they do—and then partnering with them to build a benefits package that aligns with their goals. She believes that helping employers find the balance between the cost to the business and the value that a competitive benefits package brings to employees is key to seeing her clients succeed. As a natural teacher, she also enjoys educating clients on their benefits and providing guidance when they have questions or concerns.
Her career in benefits began right after graduating from Portland State University in 1997, when she joined the benefits department of a Fortune 500 company in Portland. Five years later, she stepped into the role of Health & Welfare Manager, overseeing plans across multiple locations nationwide. She later moved to the agency side, where she spent 13 years building her own book of business as an Account Manager and Broker, eventually purchasing the firm from her predecessor. During that time, she met Jennifer Wakayama, whose business partner was preparing to retire. Their shared values and complementary strengths made combining their businesses a natural next step — and the beginning of IBG as it exists today.
Outside of work, Lyndsey channels her curiosity into the kitchen, where she’s currently perfecting the art of sourdough. She aims to read 36 books a year and can often be found chasing sunshine or cheering from the stands at her boys’ football game.
